From commitment to results, 351 MWh of solar energy to keep reducing our footprint

In 2017, we committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and since then we have continued to make progress, year after year. That year, we replaced 718 light fittings, covering all those used throughout the eight-hour working day as well as those used at night.

We also launched our first energyefficiency awareness campaigns for our employees. In 2019, we changed our electricity supply contract and since then, we have purchased 100% renewable electricity. In 2023, we completed our first photovoltaic installation, consisting of 226 solar panels, which generated approximately 153.79 MWh between July 2025 and June 2026. In 2024, we replaced the propane boiler with a heat pump, resulting in estimated energy savings of approximately 40 MWh per year. In late September 2025, we installed and connected a further 369 panels, which generated 197.11 MWh between 15th September 2025 and 30th June 2026, a period of approximately 9.5 months. In total, the two photovoltaic installations generated approximately 351 MWh, electricity that we therefore did not need to draw from the grid. Based on the average Spanish electricity mix, this corresponds to approximately 131 tonnes of CO₂e emissions avoided.

Additionally, during the works we removed the asbestos-containing roof and replaced it with sándwich panels. This not only removed a hazardous material from our roofs but also provided additional insulation, resulting in estimated energy savings of 36 MWh per year, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 10 tonnes of CO₂.

This ongoing work is reflected in the evolution of our carbon footprint, measured in tonnes of CO₂e per million euros of revenue, which has decreased consistently since 2019, as shown in Figure 1.

As part of our commitment, we publish our carbon footprint annually in the "National Carbon Footprint Registry."
