STAINLESS STEEL

The shipyard is equipped with specialised equipment for the manufacture of custom stainless steel e.g. handrails, awning structures, staircases, and custom deck fittings.

HYDROBLASTING

In 1999 the sandblasting machine was replaced with a new high pressure hydro blaster that results in a much cleaner blasting job and avoids contamination and health problems that are inherent with the use of different types of blasting material.

We can hydro-blast the complete Antifouling with 2000 bar water pressure back to the steel / aluminium hull, or remove only the old coats up to the epoxy primer. Any contaminated liquid is recovered and treated in a separator tank.

RIGGING

The shipyard has a designated area for the dismantling and storage of masts. This also serves as an area to carry out all manner of rig inspection and repair, from ultra sound or x-ray to rewiring, painting and varnishing. Rig movement is carried out using two cranes to avoid any unnecessary stress. During the winter months it is common to see up to four or five complete 45m rigs dismantled and stored. The in-house rigging contractors are available to carry out all types of work, including the stepping and un-stepping of almost any size of rig.

ELECTRONICS

The electronics workshop is another essential service offered to our clients. With a rapidly evolving electronics market and important improvements in navigation, communication and audio visual equipment, new installations or upgrades are becoming almost an annual event on most yachts.

CARPENTRY

The “Ribera” carpenters that once made the famous wooden boats constructed in Palma have given way to a new generation of expert craftsmen that have participated in both restoration of antique boats and the repair and refurbishing of others. A specialised decking team forms a part of the carpentry workshop, along with a group of artisans that work exclusively on interior furniture.

UPHOLSTERY

With all yachts the interior is accepted as one of the most important areas reflecting the true taste and style of the owner. Another specialised group within the shipyard dedicate their time to the fitting of carpets, wall coverings, ceiling panels and general furniture upholstery, including bed linen, visors and curtains. They also deal with exterior upholstery, sun beds, dinghy covers, awnings and parasols. This team also includes specialists in the cleaning of all soft furnishings, and the ability to apply certified fire retardant treatment to materials in order to comply with the strict MCA and Classification Society regulations.

STABILISERS

Since the 70's the shipyards Vosper agents have had extensive experience of installing and repairing both traditional systems of active roll stabilisation and the latest in at-anchor stabilisation equipment. With the amalgamation of many of the top names in stabiliser manufacture, the shipyard is now equipped to handle almost any system fitted to any yacht. The yard has also moved with the increasing trend to fit “At Anchor” systems having fitted 9 systems in the past 5 years.
