The 46.6m M/Y Paraiso was built at the Feadship Royal Van Lent yard in 1983. Her naval architecture is by De Voogt, with interior and exterior design by Bannenberg Designs Ltd. This week she hauled out for refit work at the Astilleros de Mallorca facility to undergo refit work before her planned relaunch late this summer. After many months of careful project preparation with the owner, designer, captain and the shipyard, the refit project on Paraiso is a full go. We have opened her Port side hull and the main engines and generators will be removed next week through the opening in the side of the hull. The aft sun deck area has been gutted and the heavy tender crane that was originally stored in the area which is normally used for the main deck aft seating area has been taken ashore. Some areas of the interiors have been taken out for replacement with a new more modern Bannenberg & Rowell Design Interior. The delivery of the project is planned for the end of 2010.
