Astilleros de Mallorca - Mallorca's Premier Shipyard |
Established in 1942, Astilleros pioneered the construction of steel vessels on the Island. The yard was originally located in La Pedrera, now the centre of the Paseo Maritimo, moved during the 60's to its present location and adopted it's current name, Astilleros de Mallorca.
Since its foundation the yard has been responsible for the construction of all types of vessels. At the end of the 70's a large 41m motor yacht was soon followed by the first three mast schooner 'Jessica' (now called 'ADIX') to be constructed in the world since the 20's. The yacht 'ALDONZA' delivered in 1995, marked a turning point with the conversion of Astilleros from building vessels to dedicating its resources to the refit and repair of yachts. At Astilleros, we repair on average 120 yachts per year.
Range of Services
An integrated refit and repair centre demands the most modern working methods and tooling. All the regular reparation trades for a yacht can be found within the shipyard facilities, keeping costs down and allowing essential co-ordination between the departments.

Classic Yachts
It all started with the restoration of Creole (1985 - 1987). The experience acquired by the yard during the construction of the 60m Schooner Jessica, two years earlier, proved very useful when carrying out the more complex task of restoring Creole.

The first recorded documentation regarding a shipyard on the island of Mallorca mentions a yard 'Atarazanas' located in the town of Palma around 1230, at the same time the island was conquered.
